At Citylife, we believe that marriage and family are sacred gifts from God to be honored, nurtured and developed in order to glorify God, bless couples and families, serve the church and accomplish God’s mission. Citylife’s Marriage and Family Ministry exists to heal, strengthen and encourage married couples, parents, families and those preparing for marriage with the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to equip each individual, couple and family to become ardent, life-long disciples of Jesus so that their families may thrive and Jesus would be glorified in their families and communities.
To accomplish this goal, the Citylife Marriage and Family Ministry provides opportunities for rich fellowship and relational support through pastoral care and prayer, worship, Bible study and many other community events. Marriage and parenting enrichment seminars are offered to equip our families to love and gracefully serve one another, as well as our neighbors in the city. Citylife’s annual family retreat is one joyful highlight of our community life. Our ministry deeply desires to build strong, Christ-centered relationships that cultivate strong marriages and families sharing life together in Boston.
Director of Community Groups & Mercy - Boston
The son of a military family, Isaac grew up in many parts of the U.S. and beyond. He met his wife, Lynn, in Arkansas at Harding University, where he completed his B.A. and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Ministry. The Brunings moved to the Boston area in 2015 for Isaac to study at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div. ’18). Isaac’s passion for seeing the image of God in people inspires his enjoyment of making and developing photographs. He and Lynn live in Boston and love—among many other things—good stories, the great outdoors, and their dog, Lazarus.
