What is it? LHC is a 8-week interactive Bible study on the Beatitudes, taught by Jesus during his Sermon on the amount in the Gospel of Matthew, which reveal 8 qualities of the heart of a person who have been blessed by God and have become a citizen of his Kingdom. Those 8 qualities are meekness and mercy, poorness in spirit and purity of heart, mourning and hunger, peacemaking and persecution. Jesus highlighted these to offer both encouragement and instruction on living distinctly as his followers in a world with values much different from those of God’s Kingdom.
Why are we doing it? LHC will serve to help attendees understand and integrate these Christlike qualities into our lives. This course will also serve as an introduction to the foundational principles of Celebrate Recovery, a ministry that Citylife will be launching in the near future. Attendees will be able to learn about Celebrate Recovery and engage with the ministry leaders.
Who’s it for? All are welcomed! LHC is for anyone and everyone who needs and desires God’s grace. It is for those struggling with enduring emotional pain, harmful habits or recurring sin. It is for those who desire to experience healing, freedom and renewed joy in Christ. Child care will be provided.
When? Beginning on Sunday, March 1 and ending on April 29. The class will meet every Sunday in March & April, except for Easter Sunday, 4/12. We’ll meet from 9:00-10:20 am before the worship service.
