Winter Clothing Drive

“Is not this the fast that I choose…to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily…” Isaiah 58: 7-8

As the colder weather approaches, we have the opportunity to help ensure that people of all ages have what they need to be warm and safe by partnering with Starlight Ministries and Fostering Hope.

Starlight Ministries, which operates out of the Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC), is a wonderful ministry that seeks to minister to the homeless community through ongoing, relation connection and friendship. One of the ways they do this is through their weekly Opportunity Resource Center, a drop-in where men and women are able to come and get basic clothing items, toiletries, and haircuts. They are also able to connect with a staff member or volunteer and receive prayer.

Fostering Hope is a ministry that serves the New England area in helping to create a sustainable culture of adoptive and foster care that permeates the local church community. Their vision is to not only see Christians raised up to become foster or adoptive families but to see the entire community playing a role. Fostering Hope partners with Department of Children and Families (DCF) offices in New England to support those in the foster care community.

We will be collecting specific donations for both organizations at church on 10/29, 11/5, and 11/12. All donations should be new or gently used. These items are very needed and greatly appreciated!
